Trademark certificate retrieval
The registration certificate is the document proving your mark is registered, needed for enforcement, platform verification, and buyer checks. Rapidfiling verifies the registration status and obtains the certificate or a certified copy.

Service overview
A trademark registration certificate issues after the application clears examination, publication, and the opposition window. Certificates now generate through the registry's online systems, but owners still lose track of them: the certificate may never have been downloaded, the mark may have lapsed unnoticed, or the owner may need a verified copy for a bank, marketplace, or overseas counsel years later.
The first step is verification, because the certificate is only meaningful if the registration is live. We pull the register entry (status, classes, proprietor, renewal due date) and give you the position in writing. Where the mark is registered, the certificate or a certified copy is obtained through the registry's routes; where it has lapsed or was never granted, we say so plainly rather than chasing a document that does not exist.
This service is deliberately narrow. It retrieves and verifies. It does not repair a lapsed registration or answer an opposition, those are separate services with their own scope, quoted separately.
Who this service is for
- Owners who never received or downloaded their registration certificate
- Businesses asked for the certificate by marketplaces, banks, or buyers
- Acquirers and diligence teams verifying a target's registered marks
- Owners needing certified copies for overseas counsel or filings
Scope of support
What support includes
- Verification of the registration status from the register
- Retrieval of the registration certificate through the registry's systems
- Certified copy applications where the original route is unavailable
- A written status summary with the renewal due date noted
What support does not include
- Restoration of lapsed registrations, quoted separately with an honest view of the odds
- Recording name or address changes in the register
- Anything beyond the certificate, this service does not fix the underlying registration
Requirements and documents
- The trademark number, owner name, or application number, whichever you have
- Owner identity details matching the register entry
- The purpose and receiving party, so the correct format is obtained
How the process works
1. Enquire with the mark details
Share the trademark number or owner name through the form on this page.
2. Status verification
We pull the register entry and confirm the registration is live and the details match your records.
3. Retrieval
The certificate or certified copy is obtained through the registry's prescribed route.
4. Handover
You receive the certificate with a status summary, proprietor, classes, and the next renewal date.
Fees and timing
What influences the quote
- Whether the certificate issues electronically or needs a certified-copy route
- Number of marks to be verified and retrieved
- Whether the register entry needs correction before the certificate makes sense
Government fees and professional fees are shown separately in every quote. GST treatment is confirmed in the quote. Rapidfiling does not publish fixed prices for this service; request a quote to receive the fee breakdown for your case.

Important limitations
- A certificate cannot be issued for an unregistered or lapsed mark, we report the position instead
- The registry's processing times apply to certified-copy routes
- The certificate matches the register; register errors surface through this service rather than being hidden
Frequently asked questions
The certificate never arrived (is my mark registered?
Certificates now generate online, so non-arrival usually means it was not downloaded. We verify the register status first and obtain the certificate if the registration is live) and tell you plainly if it is not.
What does the certificate prove?
That the mark is registered to the named proprietor for the listed classes, with its registration date. It is the document enforcement, platform verification, and buyer checks are built on.
Can we get a certificate for a pending application?
No. A pending application has an application number and status, not a certificate. Once it clears publication and the opposition window, the certificate follows, we track and retrieve at that point.
What if the register shows wrong details?
Certificate content follows the register. If proprietor or address details are outdated, the register entry is corrected through its own application first (quoted separately) and then the certificate is obtained.
